Gianna Tesone’s practice explores the body as both vessel and archive—a terrain where emotion, memory, and instinct converge. Through layered, gestural abstraction and a sculptural use of paint, her works embody the raw materiality of lived experience. Saturated hues and assertive textures mirror the inner topography of the human psyche, with forms that pulse between presence and dissolution. Tesone’s compositions often verge on the anatomical, yet resist fixed readings, inviting viewers to navigate the liminal space between recognition and sensation.
Influenced by the disciplines of anatomy, physiology, and natural design, her work is both intimate and expansive—rooted in instinctual mark-making and a reverence for the body’s inherent intelligence. This visual language manifests in visceral fields of color and movement, conjuring the tension between vulnerability and strength, containment and overflow. Her paintings are not just representations of the body, but embodiments of it—simultaneously intuitive and analytical.
